Women of the Year Lunch

Attended the annual Women of the Year Lunch, founded by the inspirational and visionary Lady ‘Tony’ Lothian This year we celebrated it’s Diamond Jubilee and it’s amazing to think the Lunch started honouring women’s achievements even before women could be made Peers the House of Lords back in 1958. Before the 1st Lunch Tony was told you won’t get more than 50 women achievers, 500 were honoured at the Savoy in 1955. This year amongst the guests were Jenny Mayers pictured here with me, UK’s 1st black woman member of The Magic Circle. She represented just one of the wide range of professions and careers which women take on successfully today. Tony Lothian would have been happy to know that her legacy lives on and that her efforts were all worthwhile!
